Miracle-Gro Invests in Aeroponics

Aeroponics got a boost from a major corporation recently. Aeroponics got a boost from a major corporation recently.

Aeroponics just received a market bump thanks to Scott's Miracle-Gro. The company has purchased 2.66 million shares of AeroGrow for $4 million with an additional $500,000 investment in intellectual property rights.

AeroGrow produces a line of indoor aeroponic appliances. The dirt-free home gardens, known as AeroGardens, are self-contained and include a built-in grow light, pre-seeded grow pods, an oxygenated grow chamber and a microprocessor that manages light, water and oxygen levels.

The fledgling aeroponics corporation and fertilizer giant make a sensible business partnership given the critical role synthetic plant nutrients play in the AeroGarden grow system. AeroGrow's news is nothing but good: the company is set to bring aeroponics into mainstream garden culture and has also committed to using strictly non-GMO seeds.
