Huffington Post Gets 40 Million Website Visitors Per Month!

Just why is Huffington Post the hottest website on the net? Just why is Huffington Post the hottest website on the net?

Forget Sarah Palin, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Oprah. Looks to me and a lot of other people like the most influential woman in America is a Greek-American lady named Arianna Huffington. Her website- Huffington Post- gets millions of unique views per month.

But is Arianna Huffington a liberal, a conservative or a maverick? She’s been all over the political map- sometimes conservative, later a liberal, at other times a progressive. But Huffington Post includes way more than politics.

In fact, although politics is the main homepage feature of the Huffington Post website, most of the rest of Huffington post is entertainment, pictures of hot bodies, sick comedy, gossip, weirdness and lots of comments from what looks to be tens of thousands of Huffington Post fans who seem to spend all their spare time commenting on the site’s content.

On a recent and typical day, HuffPo (as insiders call it) featured absolutely fascinating stories on a one-handed basketball star, a Korean couple who inadvertently starved their baby daughter because they were too busy spending 12 hours a day in a virtual reality system where they were raising a cyber-daughter, a man who built his house using 6 million beer bottles, Mickey Rourke’s 14 women in one night sex marathon, Jon Gosselin’s small penis size, Lindsay Lohan’s sexy pictures, naked snowgirls and way way way more.

Huffington Post, tell me more, tell me more!

Now look, this is all mixed in with other wild and wacky Huffington Post categories featuring an astounding diversity of writers, videos, and links. Huffington Post must have dozens if not hundreds of staffers working 24/7 to put up new items. The site is rarely ever stale, and the layouts, photos and headlines are priceless, if not somewhat misleading at times.

Huffington Post proves that Ms. Huffington is a powerhouse, and she has the chops to back it up. She’s an author who wrote biographies of legendary rich woman Maria Callas and wild cubist famous artist Pablo Picasso.

She used to be an up and coming darling of the Republican right wing, palling around with Bob Dole, Newt Gingrich and married to a Republican bigwig who tried to be a Senator from California but couldn’t get elected, and later came out as a bisexual lesbian male.

On the other hand, before she created Huffington Post she was a comedy writer for Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect, and she’s also done television and movie work on shows devoted to lesbians and other hot topics. You can’t tell who Huffington really is or what she believes in, even if you study Huffington Post like your life depends on it. The only sure thing is that she’s very interesting, and she has a weird accent.

Never a shrinking violet, and not pretending to be a hockey mom with a fake Fargo accent from Alaska, Huffington even took on Mr. Terminator in the famous feud she had with Arnold Schwarzenegger before he became governator of California.

Not only that (and I don’t see how she has the time to manage Huffington Post and do all this other stuff too), Huffington is a prolific and hard-hitting journalistic author.

Among my favorite Huffington books is Pigs at the Trough: How Corporate Greed and Political Corruption Are Undermining America.

Backed up by more facts and stats than Rush Limbaugh musters in an entire decade, Huffington skewers the greedy, mean, dishonest rich folks who have robbed America and taken over our government.

But Huffington isn’t all politics. She also wrote On Becoming Fearless...in Love, Work, and Life, an autobiographical work intended as an inspiration for women to become more confident, creative and powerful in their personal, professional and civic lives.

And when I looked up the stats on Huffington Post and saw that it’s getting 40 MILLION visits per month, I realized that Arianna Huffington is definitely fearless, and is a role model for women who want to go to the top.

I’m sure you won’t agree with everything you see on Huffington Post, but given that there’s a lot more eye candy, gossip, Hollywood celebs, bizarreness and general entertainment than there is politics, I doubt that Huffington Post is going to offend you politically so much that you ignore all the fun stuff that has nothing to do with politics at all.

Me personally, I find the comments more fun than anything else on Huffington Post. The commenters have funny names and they really get into it with each other. It’s kind of like an online Survivor, with various cadres of Huffington Post commenters supporting each other, attacking dissenters, getting personal, and behaving like a bunch of snarky elementary school children.

There are a lot of websites- political or otherwise- that vie for your attention. I have no politics other than my motto that hydroponics gardening should be mandated by law so that we all have to run at least one indoor garden in our home. But if you’re looking to stimulate your mind with a little Greek brain food, check out Huffington Post- it’s sure to give you a taste of Arianna.
