Movado - Is It Just a Brand Name for Luxury Watches?

Perhaps for Valentine's Day: an Ebel luxury watch for your lady! Perhaps for Valentine's Day: an Ebel luxury watch for your lady!

Movado Group, Inc. is one of the world's premier watchmakers. The company designs, manufactures and distributes watches not only under the recognized and respected brand names of Movado, Concord, Ebel and ESQ by Movado, but it creates amazing timepieces under the Coach, HUGO BOSS, Juicy Couture, Lacoste and Tommy Hilfiger licensed watch brands.

Movado was founded in Switzerland in 1881 and acquired by the Corporation in 1983. Now the company has earned more than 100 patents and 200 international awards, and most Movados retail from $500 to $2,300.

Is Movado just a brand name? Actually, it's more than that - it’s a lifestyle promoted by such celebrities as Derek Jeter. In fact, in keeping with the modernistic style of the Movado brand, Jeter teamed with Movado to launch the incredible Series 800™ collection back in July 2006 - particularly the classically-inspired Sub-Sea™ line. These Movado watches feature Swiss-engineered precision in a range of rugged watch editions that incorporate ultra-performance materials for all needs. Buyers can select from a variety of styles including sports watch, chronograph, sport elegant and special edition models, most retailing from $800 to $2,700.

This watch is the perfect alternative to the Rolex - not quite as pricy, and less of a homing signal for muggers. Elegant lines make the Movado watches perfect for wear with any attire. Best of all, however, is the practicality.

ESQ by Movado

By far some of the best Movado watches come from the ESQ line.

The Beacon is a sleek silver or black PVD-finished stainless steel band with unidirectional black sport bezel, featuring a fold-over clasp with safety bar. The black chronograph dial is cleverly designed to resemble the gauges of an aviator’s cockpit, with 2 timing subdials, a silver reflector ring, bright red accents and date display as well as an airplane icon.

The Bracer has more options, including your choice of square and tonneau-shaped designs with distinctive hinged crown protectors. Select the square or round black soleil Arabic/marker dial, end enjoy the 3 timing subdials, a reflector with a minute track, and luminescent details. The strap can be a bracelet of solid, two-tone or black ion-plated stainless steel, or black silicone strap with deployment.

Watches for Her

The ESQ line also features a women’s watch (the Kali), and many others including diamond accented watches (such as the Bela). These make great gifts for the lady in your life!

The Kali watch is a luxury women’s watch with polished round or oblong case. Dress it up with optional diamond accents - eight on each side leading into the matching bangle detail in solid stainless steel. A white mother-of-pearl or smooth black lacquer dial is also lightly detailed by diamond markers, while a jewelry clasp and removable back links make adjusting the fit a snap.

The Bela watch features a circular stainless steel case with four diamonds in a square pattern on each end at the start of the band. Also featured is the black Museum® dial (the single dot watch dial that made The Movado Museum Watch famous was created by Nathan George Horwitt, the first artist to explore the concept of time as design), a stainless steel bangle bracelet, and a traditional, accurate Swiss quartz movement.

A Movado watch will afford you or your woman with years of use and you’ll never have to be embarrassed about your timepiece again.
